چکیده
Purpose: This study investigated two classifications of semantic features, feature importance and relevance, to verify if they differentially influenced lexical knowledge in individuals with aphasia. Methods: A sorting task was utilized 20 volunteer participants aphasia investigate the processing involved association features their appropriate nouns. corpus 18 nouns displayed front each participant groups three along a card containing word “UNRELATED.” The were verbally instructed sort decks cards into one four designated piles. on rated as high, mid, low relevance. Results: sorted high more accurately than did mid features. Feature relevance not influence noun-feature association. These results indicated that ability associate is by levels importance. Conclusions: Lexical versus level effect does extend importance. classification In addition, who less affected performed better naming comprehension tasks.

Comparative Effectiveness of Semantic Feature Analysis (SFA) and Phonological Components Analysis (PCA) for Anomia Treatment in Persian Speaking Patients With Aphasia
Objectives: Anomia is one of the most common and persistent symptoms of aphasia. Although treatments of anomia usually focus on semantic and/or phonological levels, which both have been demonstrated to be effective, the relationship between the underlying functional deficit in naming and response to a particular treatment approach remains unclear. The aim of this study was to determine the rela...
متن کاملSemantic Knowledge Use in Discourse Produced by Individuals with Anomic Aphasia.
BACKGROUND Researchers have demonstrated that people with aphasia (PWA) have preserved semantic knowledge (Dell et al., 1997; Jefferies & Lambon Ralph, 2006). However, Antonucci (2014) demonstrated that some PWA have impaired access to certain types of knowledge more than others. Yet, all these studies used single concepts. It has not been demonstrated whether PWA have difficulty accessing cert...
متن کاملImage Retrieval: Feature Primitives, Feature Representation, and Relevance Feedback
In this paper we review the feature selection and representation techniques in CBIR systems, and propose a unified feature representation paradigm. We revise our previously proposed water-filling edge features with newly proposed primitives and present them using this unified feature formation paradigm. Multi-scale feature formation is proposed to support cross-resolution image matching. Sub-im...
متن کاملExtracting Episodic Memory Feature Relevance Without Domain Knowledge
Episodic memory provides many important capabilities to a cognitive architecture. One of the challenges of creating a general episodic memory system is to be effective when given no information about the agent’s task. In this paper, we present an effective algorithm for detecting the relevance of the features of episodic memories while only being told when an agent completes a goal. We demonstr...
